Kyle joined scouting as a Tiger Cub,
with pack 855 in Mesquite, Texas. While there, he earned his
Bobcat, Wolf, Bear and Webelos ranks and the Arrow of Light
Award. He then crossed over to Troop 67.
Since joining the troop he has
served as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Historian,
Instructor, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader
and Order of the Arrow Representative. Kyle has attended
leadership training, which includes: Troop Junior Leader
Training, Oak Leaf Skills and Golden Acorn. He has staffed Cub
Fun Day, Cub Twilight Camp, Oak Leaf Skills, Golden Acorn and
was in charge of Webelos Woods 2006.
Kyle has attended four summer camps,
three of which were at Hale Scout Reservation in Oklahoma and
one at Camp Pioneer in Arkansas. He attended two winter camps;
one at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch and one at Camp Urland. Kyle
has participated in high adventure camps at Florida’s Seabase
and in a Kanik (winter camp) at Philmont Scout Ranch.
He has earned 64 merit badges and is
continuing to earn more. He has over 200 service hours and over
120 nights camping. He received the Bronze, Silver and Gold
Presidential Service Awards. He has earned the Mile Swim Award
four times and the Kayaking Award. He also earned the God and
Country Award.
Kyle was elected by his peers into
the Order of the Arrow and is an active member of this scouting
service organization. He has received his brotherhood membership
in the Ogequah Chapter of the Mikanakawa Lodge. He attended the
National Order of the Arrow Conference in East Lansing,
Michigan.
For his Eagle project, Kyle planned
and directed the building of five benches for Buckner Children
and Family Services. He utilized 35 volunteers and over 110
service hours in his project.
Kyle earned the rank of Eagle Scout
on November 13, 2006 and plans to remain active with his troop,
crew and with the Order of the Arrow Chapter and Lodge. He is
looking forward to working on his Eagle Palms and helping others
to reach their goals.
