Jacob began his adventure in
Scouting by becoming a Tiger Cub in Pack 408 at Thompson
Elementary. He earned the ranks of Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and
Webelos. He also earned the Arrow of Light. Jacob was the first
Cub Scout of Pack 408 to begin as a Tiger Cub and advance to Boy
Scouts. He joined Troop 67.
While a member of the Troop, Jacob has served as Patrol Leaser,
Assistant Patrol Leaser, Troop Guide, Instructor, and Assistant
Senior Patrol Leader. He is also a member of the Order of the
Arrow and the Venturing Crew. Jacob has attended Golden Acorn
and earned the Baden-Powell Award. He has staffed Twilight Camp.
Jacob also served on the staff at Camp James Ray for summer
camp. He has been trained in CPR and First Aid through the Red
Cross.
Jacob has earned numerous service hours. He was awarded the
Bronze and Silver medals for the President’s Volunteer Service
Award. He earned the God and Country medal for the Lutheran
Church. Jacob has earned 24 merit badges and plans to continue
earning more in the Troop.
Jacob was elected into the Order of the Arrow by his fellow
Scouts. He recently attended his Ordeal. He is a member of the
Ogequah Chapter of the Mikanakawa Lodge.
Jacob chose to clean up a family cemetery for his Eagle Service
Project. He documented the graves and turned the information
over to the Garland Genealogical Society. He also designed and
constructed a drainage ditch at the cemetery. Approximately 25
volunteers helped complete the project giving nearly 130 hours
of service.
Jacob achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on December 19, 2005. He
plans on continuing earning merit badges and Eagle Palms. Jacob
plans to remain active in Troop 67, Order of the Arrow, and
Venturing. He will continue the adventure started many years ago
as a mere Tiger! Troop 67 is very proud of Jacob's achievements -
